McFarlane Toys Starts Pre-Orders For Atomic Skull vs. Superman 

McFarlane Toys have started pre-orders for their brand new piece – Atomic Skull vs Superman. This is the year that keeps on giving with DC Multiverse Superman two-packs from them. These are no lesser opponents; these sets showcase some of Superman’s most powerful enemies. This newest Gold Label figure pack pits him up against the Atomic Skull in all his purple flame glory. 

While the Superman figure is nothing special compared to the others, as it uses a similar figure mold, the real reason to get this set is the Atomic Skull. Most likely inspired by his appearance in Superman vs. The Elite, this Skull is purple rather than green and his hands are pure energy with his suit acting as containment like Mr. Freeze. The skeleton head mold is especially unique while the containment suit has those fine cybernetic details. Here’s a look at the piece;

The Skull also comes with two atomic energy effects and a cool purple flame base for posing. Superman gets two interchangeable hands too in the standard closed and open-fist variations. As usual, the 7” scale DC Multiverse figures come with collectible cards featuring comic book and cover art. Superman’s features Jim Lee’s illustration from Action Comics #1000, which was already used for the same figure. Atomic Skull’s features his rendition in Batman/Superman #9 by Clayton Henry.
