Sideshow Collectibles released a promotional sneak peak for a new diorama featuring DC’s most famous couple, Superman and Lois Lane. It’s expressive, highly detailed, and a just plain beautiful and wholesome, timeless rendition of Clark and Lois.
Superman carrying Lois while soaring over the Metropolis skyline, always with the Daily Planet in view, has been seen across all comic book eras. This is one of the definitive 3D renderings of Superman. The costume wrinkles, the defined face, and Daily Planet base all go above and beyond like the finer details on the statue. There’s no specific reference or likeness they were going for. Although he does kind of look like an Alex Ross illustration when he’s not using Christopher Reeves as a reference. The split curl is nicely emphasized as well.
Here’s a look at the brand new Superman & Lois Sixth Diorama by Sideshow Collectibles:
We don’t get a lot of Lois Lane action figures or statues, yet she is the best part about this one. She’s not holding on for dear life here after Superman saves her, she’s along for the ride and more than pleased about it. The dress and shirt make for her traditional journalist uniform and is just as recognizable as Superman’s suit. Like with Clark, the detail is outstanding when it comes to clothes, skin, and facial textures. The heel hanging slightly off her foot is a nice touch and is a reference to a comic book cover and really drives the point that she is being swept off her feet home.
As of yet there are no details on scale or the price and Sideshow Collectibles have not started pre-orders for the Superman & Lois diorama as of yet, but you can join the waitlist for the announcement.
