Park London, known for its officially licensed apparel and merchandise, celebrates 85 years since Superman first debuted on the cover of Action Comics #1 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster with a limited-release collection. The world truly changed when it was introduced to the Man of Steel and the superhero. These shirts, hats, and prints serve as historical markers for how long it’s been.
Superman’s designs throughout these products are anything but the Action Comics original and are the more modern iteration of the Silver Age. Regardless, these graphics are unique and can’t be found anywhere else. The hat designs are simple printing with the Man of Steel typography in either red or blue variants, while the shirts have much more to offer.
Tees, long sleeves, and sweatshirts are all available with a diverse set of styles and graphics commemorating the 85th. Whether it’s light or dark-toned, onomatopoeias mixed with Superman posing, flying, lifting, and even taking on Lex Luthor always look timeless. On some, the shield and skyline of Metropolis are iconic enough on their own. All the apparel has different art styles as well, varying from bold and defined to a more collage-like look.
The print celebrates the 85th anniversary with the cover of ‘Superman: Kryptonite No More’ cover rather than Action Comics #1 with Superman bursting from the Kryptonite chains. This is the collage-like art style previously mentioned, taking an image any Superman fan can recognize and quite literally painting it in a new way. It’s like a variant cover that never was.
The Park London Superman 85th anniversary collection is available NOW on their website, prices start at just £18.00.
