McFarlane Toys have just announced ‘DC vs. Vampires’ Superman action figure as part of their DC Multiverse collection. Vampire-turned Kal-El as he appears in James Tynion IV, Matthew Rosenberg, and Otto Schmidt’s 2021 limited series and spin-offs.
The 7′ figure is part of the Gold Label Collection and a Walmart exclusive. Normally, a vampire’s bite on the Man of Steel would destroy it since it’s like drinking from the sun. But when the creatures of the night got their hands on some Kryptonite, it was quite another story. Now, Superman draws his power from the moon fully infected with claws, fangs, and bat-like ears.
The suit he wears is appropriately colored black and red with some subtle details back to classic costumes like the insignia on the belt. The glowing red eyes aren’t his heat vision but a trait of all vampires in general. Given past horror or dark-themed Superman releases McFarlane has done like DCeased and Year of The Villain Infected, this figure fits right into that subcollection.
Like all other 7′ DC Multiverse releases by McFarlane Toys, it features several points of articulation and a trading card with comic art straight from Schmidt’s panels.
Pre-orders are yet to be announced for the ‘DC vs. Vampires’ Superman action figure on the Walmart website.
