‘Superman: Legacy’ Adds Three New Cast Members
Earlier this week, three more cast members were announced for the upcoming DC Studios film, Superman: Legacy and it’s safe to say… it’s shaping up to be something special!
Superman: Legacy is set to be the first film in the first wave of DC Studios films overseen by James Gunn and the cast is really starting to shape up and it really does feel like a ‘classic’ Superman film. This week three new cast members were added, including two KEY roles, though seemingly only two of them are officially confirmed by Director and Writer James Gunn.
The first casting was Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Hoult is an incredible actor and personally I have been following his career ever since his introduction in Skins. He has already proven himself to be a diverse actor, with a wide range of roles in various genres of film and TV. This is the one casting that Gunn hasn’t confirmed himself via social media, so there may be a change that it doesn’t follow through. But with that said, I think he would be fantastic as Lex Luthor and if this is true, I cannot wait to see what he would bring to the role.
The second casting is Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, the ICONIC and quite frankly underused assistant of Lex Luthor. Sampaio is a Portuguese actress and model, personally I am not familiar with her work, but I see no reason that she wouldn’t be great in this role.
The third and most inspired casting is Skyler Gisondo as Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen. To say he looks the part would be an absolute understatement, he looks perfect for this role and if his work in Santa Clarita Diet is anything to go by, he will be perfect. I think this will be the first Jimmy Olsen with actual freckles!
Like I said, Superman: Legacy is shaping up to be something special and I really cannot wait to see more announcements from this project.
Superman: Legacy is set for release on 11th July 2025.
