DC Comics and Sonic The Hedgehog Team Up Coming in 2025

When SEGA and DC posted an animated short of Shadow The Hedgehog as Batman on Batman Day, it was just the beginning of a new partnership for a mash-up of Justice League and Sonic The Hedgehog. IDW and DC Comics are set for a 5-issue crossover event wherein the Justice League and Team Sonic must unite and save their worlds.

Character designs were released shortly after to accompany Shadow as Batman –Sonic as The Flash, Silver as Green Lantern, Tails as Cyborg, Amy Rose as Wonder Woman, and Knuckles as Superman. The comic will be written by Ian Flynn who has written several Sonic The Hedgehog comics for IDW. There is also talk of merchandise featuring the character designs. The new series features an unprecedented crossover event where the Justice League and Team Sonic must unite to save their worlds from a major threat.

Here’s a look at the designs:

Shadow made sense for Batman because of his dark hero status. While Sonic has always been the main hero of his world, he’s always been known for his speed rather than strength. So, the powerhouse Knuckles who is known for such takes on the role of Superman. It also makes sense because Knuckles also has the ability to fly in the games.

Of course, the main event is a possible race between The Flash and Sonic that is actually officiated by DC and SEGA. If that is the case with the upcoming series set to release in March 2025, then this can’t be missed.
