McFarlane Toys 1:8th Supergirl Statue by J. Scott Campbell Available For Pre-Orders

The best statues go beyond the characters they represent with art and style, and the Supergirl 1:8th scale statue from DC Direct under McFarlane Toys is just that with its inspiration from artist J. Scott Campbell.

More specifically, his line of DC Cover Girls series of his interpretations of DC’s women which have also all been made into statues in the series. Supergirl is the fourth one in it. Campbell has always had a knack for drawing women of comics – so much so that his covers are known to increase the value of the issue itself.

According to his notes, Campbell began with the influence of Bruce Timm’s Supergirl from the animated series and gave her a sporty, gym classy overhaul instead of a full-on super suit. Her cape is also supposed to have “Supergirl” written on it in a baseball-inspired typeface rather than the House of El emblem. Perhaps this will be included in the statue. Because of all this, he has taken to calling this design “Sporty Supergirl.”
