Cleveland Unveil Superman Statue In The Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster Tribute Plaza
Cleveland, OH have unveiled the Superman Statue that is set to be front and centre of the Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster Tribute Plaza. The plaza is set to commemorate Superman’s origin and ties to the city after he was created there by Siegel & Shuster.
Tourists can find the18ft stainless steel statue near the Huntington Convention Center near St. Clair Avenue and Ontario Street. Surrounding it are bronze statues of Superman’s creators and Joanne Siegel who was the original model of Lois Lane. Not only is this statue iconic, but what I love the most about it is that really has been a community effort to raise the money to make this happen. It provides a place to honour Siegel & Shuster, Superman and the city of Cleveland. Here’s a look at the unveiling:
The statue is designed by artist David Deming and is currently open to the public. You can help support the Siegel & Shuster Society in raising money for this investment and future plans by donating here.
