DC Comics Announce ‘MAD About DC’ One-Shot

DC Comics have announced a ‘MAD About DC’ one-shot, which is set to bring together an all-star lineup of writers and artists to lovingly roast and parody the characters that fans hold dear. This is said to be one for the fans of Mad Magazine, whether you are a DC diehard, or just someone who enjoys watching creators make questionable choices with their stories. This is going to be nothing like we have ever seen before.

The one-shot is 64 pages and features Chip Zdarksy as Guest Editor, who went onto say “They say at DC there’s nowhere to go but down after writing Batman, and, yeah, it’s true,”. Marie Javins, DC’s Editor-in-Chief had this to say about the announcement, “MAD has a long tradition of sharp, fearless satire, poking fun at everything, including DC, with real wit and craft. When Chip pitched a project that would roast the DC Universe, it was clear he could assemble the right team. These creators know our characters inside and out, which is why they can twist them in ways that feel both surprising and smart. That kind of playful irreverence is what MAD does best.”

The issue will feature covers by Dan Panosian, Simon Bisley and Chip Zdarsky, here’s a look at some of them:
