Along with the May solicitations, DC subtly announced a brand new comic series. ‘Superman: Father Of Tomorrow’ which is set to revolve around Jor-El, rather than the son we know and love.

The series is written by Kenny Porter, with interior art and main covers by Danny Earls. Honestly, this is an excellent creative team, I am fans of theirs individually and seeing them come together to work on a title like this is so so exciting! Variant covers for Superman: Father Of Tomorrow #1 are by Riley Ross, Gabriel Hardman and Nimit Malavia, here’s a look at the covers:

Here’s the official synopsis from DC:

In a corner of far-flung space, a world explodes. A lone rocket escapes the destruction and races through space, ultimately landing on a small farm in small-town Kansas. A kindly couple steps with trepidation toward the alien craft as the door opens. Out steps a man named Jor-El, the sole survivor of the planet Krypton! As Jor-El fits in to his new home, he realizes that he can help the world, not just with his newfound powers but with his intellect as well. Witness how a Man of Steel and Science saves the world!

As it stands whether this is an ongoing or mini-series has not been confirmed, nor how many issues we can expect, but what I can say is that I am very intrigued by this concept and I’m looking forward to getting to know Jor-El in an entirely new light.

‘Superman: Father Of Tomorrow #1’ is set to release on 27th May 2026 and is available to pre-order right now from your local comic shop.
