Soundstage Host Superman: The Movie 40th Anniversary Event
2018 marks the 40th anniversary of the release of Superman: The Movie. The first film of its kind to bless our screens and it really brought Superman to life! Soundstage are a company based in London, that host intimate film events. Not only do they show a film, they also host guests that are associated with the film to talk about themselves, their achievements, work and also to offer advice to others.
Next month, they are hosting a Superman: The Movie 40th Anniversary Event, and it sounds great! What a year to be a Superman fan, not only have we had the celebrations of Superman’s 80th year in comic books, but we also have the original film celebrating its 40th year.
The screening will take place in London at Picturehouse Central, on Sunday 23rd September at 3pm. After the screening of the film, Pierre Spengler (its producer) will be on stage to be interviewed about his roles and experience in the making of Superman: The Movie. Pierre also produced the other Superman films of that era – Superman II and Superman III. Soundstage have hinted that other guests may be announced to attend, but I think those may come nearer the time!
To many, Superman: The Movie is what started their love for the superhero, and to many Christopher Reeve is still their Superman. If that is you, this is the perfect event for you to re-live it’s classic scenes with like-minded people and is your chance to meet its producer. What more do you want?!
Tickets are £17.00 and can be bought here, please note that Soundstage have announced that the screening is from a 35mm print, so there may be occaisional scratches, but that just adds to the classic effect right?
Personally, I think it sounds like a great event and I would be very interested to see how the interview pans out, for insights into what it was like working with Christopher Reeve and other things. What a great way to celebrate it’s release 40 years ago! I hope I can get there!
This sounds like tons of fun! Wish I could attend.
Oh wish I could attend – sounds like a brilliant way to celebrate!
