New Zealand Mint is releasing a landmark collectible coin for Warner Bros.’ 100th Anniversary that commemorates both Superman and Looney Tunes with the iconic cartoons dressed as the Man of Steel.
What’s impressive about the coin is that it’s shaped and decorated like the WB shield with frosting and a mirror-edge finish. The 2 oz silver coin is valued at five dollars as legal currency. Unfortunately, “That’s All Folks” is not engraved on the tail of the coin.
This image of Bugs, Daffy, Sylvester, Tweety, Porky, and Taz has appeared on the Bugs Bunny as Superman figure from McFarlane Toys and other WB 100 merchandise. Wherever it shows up, it’s always adorable to see them in the cape and trunks. Daffy, Tweety, and Porky even have split curls. Porky also uses underwear instead of trunks for his suit, which is a fun little detail.
Another detail would be the fact that New Zealand mint only made 1,923 of this limited edition coin, as in the year Warner Bros was founded – 1923. The WB 100 Looney Tunes Superman coin is priced at $180.00 and is available to order now from their website.
