US Mint Teams Up With DC Comics For Collectible Coins
United States Mint have teamed up with DC Comics to bring us an official collectible coin and medal range featuring our favourite heroes and villains.
This will be a three-year deal starting from summer 2025, the first wave of coins will feature The Trinity, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. However from now until 11th August fans have the ability to vote on twelve additional characters, the winning six characters will then earn their own coins for 2026 and 2027. Those additional characters include; Aquaman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Black Canary, The Flash, Cyborg, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Shazam!, Robin and Hawkman!
There will be 24-karat-gold coins, .999 fine silver medals and non-precious metal clad medals and all designs have been brought to life by US Mint’s Chief Engraver, Joseph Menna. Here’s what C. Gibson, Director had to say about the partnership; “This opportunity with DC signals an exciting new era for the Mint as we continue our efforts to engage seasoned collectors, but also connect with younger, more diverse audiences. We are thrilled to highlight the role that comic books have played in upholding American values, and the fact that the American public will be a guiding force in shaping this coin and medal series makes it even more special.”
