Superman (1978) Funko Rewind Figure And Christmas Supergirl POP! Announced
The Funko REWIND line celebrates the time of running to your local Blockbuster for the week to rent a haul of movies from aisles upon aisles of every genre imaginable. It’s the VHS and DVD covers that people had to guide them as the internet became less limited. Superman from the 1978 film joins this home media figure collection in October.
Like the SODA, REWIND features stylized mini-figures (in this case, 3 ½”) and one in six chances of receiving a special “chase” variant of the figure. The Superman figure’s clamshell VHS packaging has the movie poster used on the original home release of the Christopher Reeve classic.
The special chase variant would be Clark Kent. Since REWIND figures aren’t exactly known for capturing actors’ likenesses, this nostalgic figure would fit in any Superman figure collection beyond just film. Speaking of nostalgia, REWIND figures also come with collectible figure cards designed to look like the classic Blockbuster membership cards. Special chase ones also come with the chase variants.
At the same time, Funko is already getting ready for the holidays with Halloween products well on the way and Christmas ones gearing up. Supergirl joins the holiday celebration with a new POP! figure. DC always gets some charming holiday-themed figures every year and this year brings in characters that have yet to be featured in that line. Flying POP!s are always neat with their little transparent stands and there’s plenty with the Super-Family. This figure will ship out in November.
As of now, Funko has yet to begin pre-orders for the Superman REWIND Funko and Christmas Supergirl Pop, but you can sign up to be notified when they come available from their website.
