‘Absolute Superman: Red Son’ Announced by Mark Millar 

Last week, Mark Millar announced on social media that DC will be re-releasing Red Son as a massive hardcover edition packed with all sorts of never-before-seen goodies from the desk of Millar himself. To possibly coincide with the launch of DC’s Absolute universe, the $100 hardcover special edition is titled ‘Absolute Superman: Red Son’.

Along with his original scripts, Millar also said that notes from the DC editorial will also be included. He describes them as hilarious. This must make you think, what did DC think when they were approached with a story that essentially makes Superman the Captain America of the USSR? Perhaps the version that we all know and was nominated for an Eisner came a long way from what Millar initially planned. 

‘Absolute Superman: Red Son’ is available to pre-order from publisher Penguin Random House as well as several other online retailers and bookshops. The $100 edition will have 216 pages and is set to release on May 27, 2025.
