Insight Editions Release ‘Superman: The Official Cookbook’
Insight Editions have released an Official Cookbook featuring recipes based on our favourite hero, Superman. ‘Superman; The Official Cookbook: Recipes from Smallville to the Hall of Justice and Beyond’ is set for release in July. What seems like a fun idea for American Midwestern recipes is actually a food tour around the DC Universe with beginner to expert level dishes. Recipes are by Elena Pons Craig and Jermaine McLaughlin writes the lore for the dishes. According to sneak peak of pages, the four different chapters take us to Smallville, Metropolis, the Hall of Justice, and the Fortress of Solitude respectively.

Smallville is made to represent the simple meals and snacks that Martha made Clark as he was growing up like waffles, steak & eggs, chicken noodle soup, barbecue chicken, and, of course, the Kent apple pie. Metropolis is a combination of city food and break snacks at the Daily Planet like pastries and coffee. DC food staples like Big Belly Burger and Jimmy’s gyro wrap are in this section – even the beef bourguignon from Lois and Clark’s first date. The Hall of Justice gives other heroes the spotlight like Oliver Queen’s spicy chilli, John Stewart’s Detroit pizza, and more. Recipes from The Fortress of Solitude are themed after the El family for a more cosmic twist on desserts and snacks.

‘Superman; The Official Cookbook: Recipes from Smallville to the Hall of Justice and Beyond’ is available to pre-order for $29.99 at all major retailers.
