Superman Dons New Artic Suit Design In ‘Action Comics #1085’
Recently in ‘Action Comics #1085‘, Clark dons a new super outfit that has definitely not gone unnoticed. For context, Clark is sent on assignment to an Arctic research facility and Lois suggests if he’d like some time to himself he should pack a bit more inconspicuously. Obviously a need arises for Superman and he shows up in a full white with light blue highlighted outfit. The look is very reminiscent to his white and yellow highlighted suit from ‘Superman: Lost’ but has a more snowy camouflage feel about it.
One of the more interesting things about this new look is the story is likely set sometime before Brian Michael Bendis’s ‘Superman #18’ (circa. 2019) as it’s clear he still has a secret identity. The editorial note of ‘Action Comics #1085’ mentions it takes place before ‘Action Comics #1050‘ when Lex Luthor replaces Clark’s need for a dual identity, which makes this new suit actually an old one.

Naturally there’s always a bit of buzz when Superman dons a new look, but with the new Superman movie nearing its premiere there seems to be a more speculative nature about this one. With revealed scenes taking place in the Arctic, could this be something we see in the new movie, or movies to come?
Personally, I initially wrote the new suit off as Colorist Trish Mulvihill wanting to flex her talents, but could there be more too it? We’ll just have to wait and see as this Summer of Superman celebration is about to kick into high gear.
