Superman Funko Reveals: A Flashback and an Itty Bitty Surprise

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a brand new look at some Superman Funko Pops!

If you want to scale down your collection with some smaller figurines, you don’t have to steal Brainiacs’ shrink ray to make it happen, you can instead pick up the Bitty Town: Superman and the Fortress of Solitude set. The set includes a two inch tall acrylic crystal Fortress of Solitude, and your very own small-scale superman, roughly standing at about 0.9 inches in height. Supes comes in his very own package inside the box, for those who prefer keeping their Funko’s in mint. If your superman needs a place to ponder, or simmer down after manhandling Mr Mxyzptlk, you can place him inside his humble abode, inside your humble abode. While the set may be small in stature, the ever-expanding history and iconography of the character makes it stand tall.

With David Corenswet’s Superman making the whole world look up, it’s easy to forget to look back on the Supermen that came before. However, despite how many decades have passed, Christopher Reeve’s venture as the Man of Tomorrow is often still looked at as the most iconic version of the character. Richard Donner’s 1978 film “Superman: The Movie” captivated audiences young and old and gave the world a taste of what superhero films could be. With countless memorable movie moments, it’s difficult to decide which scenes to immortalize in plastic form, but for Funko, it seems they may have read fans’ minds, with that scene being the phone booth changing sequence, just moments before he rescues Lois Lane and the helicopter pilot after a freak accident on the roof of the greatest newspaper company of Metropolis, The Daily Planet.

The figure itself has Mr. Reeve standing inside a silver telephone booth, in his mild mannered attire, tearing his shirt open to reveal the shining S-insignia beneath. Beside our incognito hero is his brown shoulder bag and topped with his classic gray fedora. Funko’s ability to capture the essence of an iconic character or celebrity while keeping the details minimal is on full display, as you can clearly distinguish this Superman Funko Pop from the vast sea of ones that came before. This vibrant vinyl figure sits at 5.9 inches tall and is ready to swoop in to save your shelf or computer desk from awkward empty spaces and liven your collection and replace the “bad vibrations” with good vibrations. A perfect gift for any 78’ Superman fan or Funko collector. While this Pop in particular is currently sold out on Funko.com, they might make time for a flyby and restock them to give superfans another shot at picking this “swell” Supes up.

While these Funko’s might be different from one another, their mission is one in the same: they are here to fight for Truth, Justice, and a better Superman collection.
