‘Justice League’ Replaced With ‘Justice Gang’ In Peacemaker S2

Peacemaker Season 2 is out now and the first episode featured a ‘Previously On’ segment which replaced the Season 1 scene featuring the ‘Justice League’ replaced with the ‘Justice Gang’ as featured in ‘Superman’.

Considering that the line-up of the ‘Justice League’ first featured are no longer present in the DCU as it is known now, it makes total sense to do this and really allows Peacemaker and the rest of the supporting characters in the series a place in the DCU as it is today. The line-up was changed to Superman, Supergirl and the rest of the ‘Justice Gang’ including, Mr Terrific, Guy Gardner Green Lantern and Hawkgirl. I know it sounds strange but it really was a seamless transition that didn’t leave viewers speculating on whether the ‘Justice League’ was canon in this universe or not… it definitely isn’t!

Instead of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Ezra Miller’s Flash having some banter at the end of the sequence, instead we see Nathan Fillion’s Green Lantern and Isabella Merced’s Hawkgirl having that interaction, with the rest of the characters appearing as silhouettes. The dialogue was also tweaked with Adebayo referring to the ‘Justice Gang’ for help instead of the ‘Justice League’. James Gunn also jokingly mentioned in a response on social media that Krypto The Superdog wasn’t present in the line-up because he couldn’t be trusted to stop an alien invasion.
