DC HIGH VOLUME: BATMAN Announces Superman Characters Voice Actors and 12 More Thrilling Chapters
The wait is over, and the cape has officially been claimed! DC and Realm have revealed that Stranger Things actor Chester Rushing will voice Superman/Clark Kent in the hit audio series DC High Volume: Batman. Joining him is Stephanie Koenig (English Teacher) as Lois Lane, forming the latest powerhouse duo to bring the Man of Steel and his beloved reporter to life in DC’s groundbreaking cinematic audio universe.
Rushing couldn’t hide his excitement, sharing on Instagram, “It’s been so hard keeping my secret identity… I’m beyond honored to officially join the DC Universe as the voice of Superman / Clark Kent in DC High Volume: Batman. Sharing the mic with legends like Troy Baker (The Joker), Stephanie Koenig (Lois Lane), and Jason Spisak (Batman) is one of the greatest honors of my career. Getting to voice my favorite superhero is a dream come true.” He added, “Voicing Clark/Superman is one of the greatest honors of my career. I grew up inspired by this character, and I hope to bring heart, life, and truth to the Man of Steel.”

The announcement of Rushing and Koenig’s casting came during the Jim Lee & Friends panel at New York Comic Con, where DC and Realm also revealed that twelve new chapters are soaring into the DC High Volume: Batman lineup — right on the heels of the recently released Batman: Dark Victory. The crowd erupted when Troy Baker, already a fan favorite for his work in Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons and countless other roles, revealed that he’s been cast as The Joker in DC High Volume: Batman’s upcoming adaptation of Batman: The Killing Joke. Baker is no stranger to Gotham’s Clown Prince of Crime, having previously voiced The Joker in Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Assault on Arkham. He also voiced both Batman and The Joker in Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, making him one of the few actors to portray both roles in the same project. His experience with the character adds depth and familiarity to his performance in DC High Volume: Batman’s adaptation of The Killing Joke.
DC High Volume: Batman continues to redefine how fans experience Gotham’s shadows and secrets. This cinematic audio experience adapts classic Batman comic books into immersive podcast episodes that feel like full-fledged movies for your ears. Since its debut earlier this year with the four-part Batman: Year One by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli, the series has become a must-listen for Bat-fans around the world.
And the Dark Knight’s crusade is just getting started. Following Batman: Dark Victory, new episodes will continue to drop every Wednesday, beginning with Batman: Ego, a two-part event releasing October 29 and November 5. The excitement builds from there with Batman: The Gauntlet (November 12), spotlighting Dick Grayson’s first mission as Robin; Nightwing: Year One, a six-part saga premiering November 19, chronicling Dick’s transformation into his new heroic identity; and Batman: The Killing Joke, arriving in two explosive parts on December 31 and January 7.
January 14 will mark another milestone for the High Volume series — the debut of Oracle: Year One from Batman: Chronicles #5, a story that has never been adapted before. Picking up the emotional aftermath of The Killing Joke, this chapter will follow Barbara Gordon’s transformation into Oracle, the world-class hacker and information broker who proves that heroism isn’t limited to those who wear a cape or cowl.

The new cast lineup is equally electrifying. Alongside Chester Rushing’s Superman and Stephanie Koenig’s Lois Lane, DC High Volume: Batman welcomes Will Friedle (Boy Meets World, Batman Beyond) as Nightwing/Dick Grayson, Shelby Young (American Horror Story) as Batgirl/Barbara Gordon, and Troy Baker (The Last of Us, Batman: Arkham Shadow) as The Joker. Additional voices include Holland Roden (Teen Wolf), Danny Nucci (Titanic), Eric Lange (Narcos), Keith Szarabajka (Halo 4), Stephanie Sheh (Sailor Moon), and Richard Epcar (Mortal Kombat).
Returning fan-favorite performers will also reprise their roles, with Jason Spisak (Young Justice, Arcane) as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Jay Paulson (Mad Men, Catch-22) as Commissioner Gordon, Reba Buhr (Next Gen) as Catwoman/Selina Kyle, Adam O’Byrne (Interview with the Vampire) as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, Simon Vance (Rod: The Autobiography of Rod Stewart) as Alfred Pennyworth, Dan Gill (Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension) as The Joker, Jesse Burch (Fallout: New Vegas) as The Riddler, and Kevin Smith (Clerks, Dogma) as The Penguin.
With an ensemble this rich, and a slate of iconic storylines ahead, DC High Volume: Batman is fast becoming the definitive way to relive the greatest moments in Gotham’s history — and now, Metropolis joins the mix. The World’s Greatest Detective and the Man of Steel may walk very different paths, but in DC High Volume, their voices are louder than ever — and the next chapter in DC’s sonic universe promises to be nothing short of super.
