McFarlane Toys Sets April Pre-Orders With Superman and Supergirl Figures

On April 9th, pre-orders for DC Multiverse figures from McFarlane Toys go live in what is a celebration of Superman on the silver screen with  new Superman Returns and Batman V. Superman Dawn of Justice figures. At the same time, pre-orders for a new Supergirl (Action Comics) are now available.

This Supergirl figure isn’t based on just any appearance, it’s her first from Action Comics #252 in 1959. By then, Superman was the best-selling comic character, and the emblem was very much what we know it as today which may be why to some her costume looks so modern. Compared to other DC  Multiverse Collector Edition figures, this one seems pretty bare with the one swappable face being subtly different. The fabric cape is nice though.

This figure actually has a chase variant too, which I just learned McFarlane Toys does. There’s a one in six chance of getting a figure wearing her suit from later in the series with more red highlights like the skirt. Pre-orders are shipping now with the Supergirl figure going for $34.99.

McFarlane Toys has given a first look at the Superman (heat vision variant) DC Multiverse figure based on Batman V. Superman. This may the first DCEU Superman figure from McFarlane to use a fabric cape, so fan may consider that an upgrade. With this figure also based on the movie’s final act, there may be some cool attachments.

Another movie-based Superman figure was revealed on the same day –the Superman Returns figure. Once again, this is the figural upgrade to the fabric cape as is evident by the teaser photo. With the release of the newer Superman: The Movie figures, McFarlane is giving this treatment to all their Superman figures.

Pre-orders for the Superman movie and Supergirl figures are available on April 9 through from the McFarlane Toys website.
