Warner Bros. and DC Comics Reveal 2026 Superman Day Plans

Superman Day falls on 18th April 2026 this year and DC Comics and Warner Bros. have announced their full global lineup and multi-platform celebration for fans of all ages! Fans anywhere in the world can celebrate the anniversary of Superman’s debut with offerings including experiences, comic books, digital content, experiences, marathons and so much more!

This year we are celebrating Superman day with a bit of a twist, to celebrate the release of the upcoming ‘Supergirl’ film this June, she has taken over some aspects of the celebration and what a perfect opportunity to promote the film.

Fan Activations

Fans in Los Angeles, Milan and Fuzhou can celebrate Superman, Supergirl and Krypto by attending one of the three pop-up experiences. Daily Planet themed newsstands will serve as the centre of activities at each pop up, also featuring prizes, giveaways and more. Each of the three pop-up activations will also feature a unique Krypto-themed photo opportunity and a larger than life ‘S’ emblem.

In Los Angeles, the celebration comes to life at The Americana at Brand with a one-day immersive event for fans, families, and four-legged friends. The Daily Planet newsstand will offer a free, special edition Daily Planet newspaper, along with themed snacks and beverages (including pup cups). The newsstand is also where fans can win premium prizes and products inspired by Superman, Supergirl and Krypto with a scratch-off activity including a free digital download of last summer’s blockbuster feature film “Superman” (2025). Among the prizes are tickets to the new Superman Experience: Defenders Unite attraction, opening April 18 at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank. Photo opportunities also include Krypto’s Doghouse of Solitude and a larger-than-life Superman S-Shield symbol. Leading national animal welfare organization, Best Friends Animal Society, will also be on-site with adoptable puppies looking for loving homes. Fans who attend the pop-up will receive a flyer with special discounts to purchase the Superman film of their choice. 

Milan’s CityLife neighborhood will also host a Superman Day pop-up, Saturday, April 18th through Sunday, April 19th (10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time). The Daily Planet newsstand is where fans can secure a Daily Planet newspaper, featuring articles dedicated to the Man of Tomorrow, and celebrate with a sweet surprise (ice cream and dog treats). Photo opportunities also include Krypto’s Doghouse of Solitude, the Superman S-Shield symbol, and a Milan-exclusive photo booth where fans can star in and print their own Metropolis souvenir postcard. 

In Fuzhou, fans can visit the immersive pop-up experience at the Bubbling Boiling Music Festival on April 18. On-site fans enjoy and explore the Daily Planet newsstand, a giant Superman S-Shield installation, a Fuzhou-exclusive Krypto photo opportunity, and more. 

Introducing the ‘Superman Experience: Defenders Unite at Warner Bros. Studios

The ‘Superman Experience: Defenders Unite’ is a brand-new walkthrough experience and live gameplay attraction from Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and DC Studios, opens April 18, 2026 at Stage 5 on the iconic Warner Bros. Studios lot in Burbank, CA.  Presented by Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, the ticketed attraction offers guests the ability to unlock their own superpowers and enjoy the illusion of flying alongside Superman through next-generation motion capture technology, active 3D glasses, and high-definition audio.  Featuring an original storyline, the attraction brings guests into a world inspired by James Gunn’s 2025 film “Superman.” Inside the Fortress of Solitude, guests are recruited by Superman himself and join him in an epic battle against DC Super-Villain, Darkseid. Best Friends Animal Society and DC Superpowered Storytellers

The activities for Superman Day also tap into our nonprofit partnerships and impact programs to reach new audiences, support various communities, and inspire people to act. This year, WBD is reigniting their partnership with Best Friends Animal Society (BFAS) to inspire audiences to make the heroic act of adopting a dog or cat. On April 18, a special Superman Day Krypto Short will air on WBD platforms and drive audiences from HBO Max to the BFAS website with the message that, “You have the power to save a pet like Krypto.” In Los Angeles, attendees of the Superman Day Event at The Americana on April 18 can meet and adopt puppies from BFAS Los Angeles, learn more about BFAS, and treat their furry friends to pup cups and cuddles. 

This Superman Day, DC Superpowered Storytellers arrives in classrooms, clubs and homes across the U.S., helping students from all backgrounds strengthen their storytelling skills and unlock their inner superhero. The initiative features free Superman-themed activities and community events with Discovery Education and Boys & Girls Clubs of America, inviting learners to explore heroic values like courage, problem-solving, creativity, and hope through hands-on challenges and real-world connections. DC Publishing

DC is putting Supergirl front and center as part of the Summer of Supergirl initiative, highlighting her rising prominence across the DC Universe. Participating comic book shops and bookstores will feature a curated lineup of Supergirl-focused titles, special editions, and accessible entry points into Kara Zor-El’s most iconic stories, honoring her legacy while giving fans a first look at what’s ahead for the Girl of Steel in 2026.

At local comic shops, fans can pick up Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow #1 – Superman Day 2026 Special Edition, available with exclusive foil and sketch variants, alongside the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow Deluxe Edition. “Krypto Saves The Day!”

Look Pup! Fresh off his star-making performance in Superman, Krypto returns in a series of original comedic animated shorts. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios, Krypto Saves the Day! brings the caped canine’s brand of heroic hijinks to everyday life in Metropolis. From school bus rescues to Spring Break cruise ship saves – and even Halloween candy crises – no adventure is too small as Krypto delivers super-powered action, laughs, and plenty of mischief for fans of all ages.

Releasing April 18 on the DC Kids YouTube channel, the latest episode, “Coastal Catastrophe,” features Krypto’s latest misadventure, as a fun day at the beach goes sideways when some sneaky foes get between a hungry Krypto and a hot dog.

Home Entertainment

HBO Max is giving fans a one-stop destination for Superman Day, with a dedicated hub highlighting classic films, beloved animated series, and the 2025 blockbuster hit “Superman.” Subscribers can also explore the “Fortress of Solitude” collection every day of the year, featuring “Superman & Lois,” “My Adventures with Superman,” “Krypto Saves the Day!,” and more.

The All-Star Superman Deluxe Edition Hardcover Graphic Novel Superman Day Special Edition will include a digital code of the 2011 animated film, All-Star Superman. The graphic novel features an exclusive dust jacket which showcases the key art from the film. Available at a comics shop near you. Quantities are limited. TBS will be airing a marathon of Superman-themed episodes of “The Big Bang Theory” from 8:30 to 10:30 PM ET on 4/18 with themed Superman Day on-screen graphics.
