Look! Up in the sky! It is not a bird, a plane or even Krypto flying over San Diego. It is DC bringing a super-sized celebration of the Man of Steel to Comic-Con International 2026.

DC has officially revealed its plans for this year’s convention, and while the company’s expanded Booth #4544 will celebrate the creativity and influence of the 1950s, Superman will be one of the biggest heroes standing at the center of it all. Comic-Con International runs July 23-26 at the San Diego Convention Center, following Preview Night on Wednesday, July 22.

One of the convention’s biggest Superman attractions will be an extension of Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood’s Superman Experience. Fans will be able to step inside a Fortress of Solitude-inspired environment, strike a pose with Superman and Krypto and leave with something collectors will want to protect like it is the last surviving piece of Krypton. Comic-Con attendees who visit the experience will receive a special edition of Superman Experience #1, a custom comic written by Josh Trujillo, illustrated by Bruno Abdias and featuring a cover by Bernard Chang. The limited-edition issue will only be available to Comic-Con attendees, instantly making it one of the weekend’s most desirable Superman exclusives.

The Fortress setting is also a perfect fit for DC’s larger 1950s celebration. Superman’s legendary sanctuary was introduced during that decade in Action Comics #241, while his cousin Kara Zor-El made her debut in Action Comics #252. DC’s booth will use the era as inspiration while celebrating the stories, characters and bold ideas that helped shape the Silver Age.

The Daily Planet will also come to life on the convention floor through a 1950s-inspired newsstand. Fans can pick up a free facsimile of MAD Magazine #1 featuring classic advertisements from DC’s archives and a blank Daily Planet back cover created for convention signatures. It is a fun combination of comic-book history and immersive world-building that should make visitors feel as though they have walked into Metropolis during one of its most imaginative eras.

Superman collectors will have even more reasons to visit the DC Booth. DC will sell a limited-printing foil edition of Absolute Superman #1 featuring artwork by Terry and Rachel Dodson. The publisher will also debut a convention-exclusive edition of Absolute Superman Vol. 1: The Last Dust of Krypton with a cover by superstar artist Dan Mora. Both releases join a massive selection of comics, graphic novels and merchandise being prepared for the event.

The Superman celebration will not stop on the convention floor. My Adventures with Superman will host a Season 3 panel, from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Friday, July 24, featuring showrunners Jake Wyatt and Brendan Clogher, writer Karen Graci and voice actors Jack Quaid, Alice Lee, Ishmel Sahid and Kiana Madeira. DC promises behind-the-scenes discussion, a closer look at Clark and Lois’ evolving partnership, higher stakes in Metropolis and special surprises for fans.

From 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Saturday, July 25, comic fans will also want to keep their eyes on “DC’s Metropolis and Beyond” panel. Joshua Williamson, Mark Waid and several other major DC creators are scheduled to discuss Superman, the next phase of DC’s All In publishing initiative and what lies ahead for heroes beyond Metropolis. With Williamson writing Superman and Waid guiding Action Comics and Justice League Unlimited, the panel could become one of the convention’s most important destinations for fans hoping for new announcements about the Man of Steel and his corner of the DC Universe.

Williamson and Waid are also among the creators expected to appear at the DC Booth for signings and meet-and-greets, alongside DC President, Publisher and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee and many other writers and artists. DC has already promised reveals during its publishing programming, and Lee’s annual “Jim Lee and Friends” panel will once again feature surprise guests. That means the announced Superman attractions may only be the beginning of what DC has planned for San Diego.

Even the four-legged heroes will get their moment. Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines will bring DC’s full sponsored litter of future service dogs—Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Kara Zor-El, Krypto and Lobo—to the booth. Fans can meet the puppies on Saturday, while artist Chrissie Zullo will sign Krypto: Home Sweet Krypto during an additional Sunday appearance.

From a Fortress of Solitude photo experience and an exclusive Superman comic to Absolute Superman collectibles, Daily Planet activities, animation programming and publishing teases, DC is making sure the House of El casts a long shadow over Comic-Con International 2026.
