DC Announce ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ Audio Production
Voice actor Jon Bailey, better known to many fans online as “Epic Voice Guy,” has announced that he will voice both Krypto and Krem in the upcoming full-cast audio production of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Bailey shared the news on Instagram, writing, “I cannot describe my excitement” about taking on the two dramatically different roles and fulfilling his dream of working with DC.
Published by Random House Audio, the production adapts the complete eight-issue Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic saga and will feature a full cast, sound effects and music. The five-hour audio production is scheduled for release Sept. 1, 2026, and is currently available for preorder.
Bailey’s casting gives him the opportunity to tackle two characters standing on opposite sides of Kara Zor-El’s cosmic adventure. Krypto is the beloved super-powered canine whose life is put in danger by Krem, while Krem of the Yellow Hills is the ruthless killer responsible for sending Ruthye on her quest for vengeance. In the original comic, Krem murders Ruthye’s father and attacks Krypto, events that help launch Kara, Ruthye and Krypto on their journey across the universe.
That makes Bailey’s double casting particularly interesting. He will be responsible for bringing both one of the story’s most lovable characters and one of its most dangerous to life—a challenge that should give the veteran voice performer plenty of room to show off his range.
Bailey will not be alone in bringing Kara’s adventure from the comic page to listeners’ ears. Marcella Lentz-Pope voices Supergirl, Amelia Tyler voices Ruthye as the narrator and Lim Shi-An voices young Ruthye. Marc Thompson plays Zor-El, Ellen Adair voices Alura and Tan Kheng Hua voices Ruthye’s mother. The extensive ensemble also includes Matthew Amendt, Ziyad Bagharib, Torian Brackett, EA Castillo, Nicholas Chan, William DeMeritt, Kristen DiMercurio, Ned Donovan, David Lee Huynh, Coy Jandreau, Amr Kotb, Andrew Kwan, Quincy Lawson, Brandon McInnis, Jasmine Paige-Moore, Chester Rushing and Oliver Wyman, although their individual roles have not yet been specified by the publisher.
The audio production, adapted by Roshan Singh Sambhi, comes from the acclaimed comic created by writer Tom King, artist Bilquis Evely, colorist Mat Lopes and letterer Clayton Cowles. DC originally launched the eight-issue limited series in June 2021, sending Kara Zor-El and Krypto into deep space on a story of grief, revenge, justice and finding purpose. The series would later earn an Eisner Award nomination for Best Limited Series and become the inspiration for DC Studios’ Supergirl.
That distinction makes the new production even more intriguing for fans who have already seen Kara’s story on the big screen. Rather than simply recreating the movie, the audiobook goes back to King and Evely’s complete original eight-issue story, offering listeners another way to experience the cosmic adventure that helped redefine the Girl of Steel for a new generation.
