McFarlane Toys’ Super Powers and Super Friends Includes Two Superman Figures
The 4.5” figures of Super Powers and the 6” Super Friends figures from McFarlane Toys are some of the best retro figures on the market. Not because of the homages they are, but the sheer library. The Super Powers line is up to its 16th wave and also includes exclusive figures of characters all across the DC Universe –even some from modern comics and DC Studios’ Superman. The Super Friends includes tons of references to specific episodes. Two new figures now up for pre-order are just that.
Wave 16 of Super Powers is no available to pre-order with either individual figures or the whole set. The characters for this round are Martian Manhunter, Cyborg, The Flash, Wonder Girl, Deathstroke, and, of course, Superman. Specifically, it’s Kal-L, the old Superman of Earth-2, who played major roles in the original Infinite Crisis and its sequel. The silver wingtips are what make him iconic. The figure includes all the features of a Super Powers figure with a felt cape and points of articulation.
The latest figure from the Super Friends line is a real doozy, and a McFarlane Platinum Edition figure. It’s Superman from the team’s adventure in Warpland. And warped he is with a whole eagle’s head. Literally, a new eagle head sculpt on the Superman figure body. This will go great with farmer and lion Superman. The Super Friends has a great sort-of surreal Superman figure series going on. This is a great addition to it.
