Mark Waid returns to writing Superman
Mark Waid is a huge name when it comes to Superman comics, mostly known for his work on Superman: Birthright and Kingdom Come.
There were several rumours that he had returned to DC Comics over the past few months and fans prayed that it would be a return to Superman comics. Well, those prayers have been answered as Mark Waid has been confirmed to be writing a new Superman story, which will be a part of Dark Nights: Death Metal The Last Stories of the DCU #1 out later this year. Sadly, I think this is a one-shot, but it seems a waste to get Mark Waid in for just one story within an issue. Here’s hoping it leads to more Superman focused stories and/or issues.
Here is the official annoucement that was revealed by DC Nation on Twitter:
I’ve been reading Dark Nights Death Metal and I have to admit there is a LOT to it, but I have to say I am very excited to read the Man Of Tomorrow story within Dark Nights: Death Metal The Last Stories of the DCU #1.
Mark Waid’s writing combined with the incredible artwork of Francis Manapul is destined for greatness, and I for one cannot wait to get my hands on this comic book.
Dark Nights: Death Metal The Last Stories of the DCU #1 is out on 8th December.
