Superman & Lois Season 3 Confirmed

Superman & Lois Season 3 has officially been confirmed! Secrets will continue to be tested in Smallville through 2023 as The CW released its slate of renewed tv-series.

The CW rolls out its renewal list a month later than they usually do with the objective of using their “most-streamed and socially engaging” shows to build on what has now been accepted as their multiplatform format, according to CEO Mark Pedowitz. Other series like The Flash, Riverdale, and Nancy Drew have also been renewed for a new season for the same reason. It’s not uncommon for them to renew shows as a season is airing. 

Man of Steel and Arrowverse fans can give themselves a pat on the back because of its high viewer numbers which are motivating The CW’s decisions right now. Reports from TVLine suggest the delay in renewal announcements and why fewer shows than usual were selected come after the ongoing discussion of when or if WarnerMedia and Paramount will sell the network. 

Of course, that opens the door to the discussion of where series like Superman And Lois will end up once The CW is sold. Worst case, it is canceled as other shows can be. Or, it along with more of WarnerMedia and DC’s intellectual properties and productions stream on HBO Max.

Despite the corporate squabbles, Superman & Lois has enjoyed mainstream success since its first season, which editors of the TV Guide magazine listed as one of the top anticipated and watched shows of the year. The series introduced a unique take on the family Clark and Lois start in Smallville as well as threats that Superman must face present themselves. Smallville has already been established as a mainstream TV setting for Superman with the series of the same name. 

What hasn’t been established yet is Lana Lang as Superwoman which many fans are theorising to what the third season will culminate too. Many are also eager to see if any returning foes or new ones from throughout the Arrowverse will appear since The CW’s unique takes on them are often comic homages with a dash of something dramatic. 

Not much information has been given on production or release date. But it is inferred that season three will premiere around this time next year keeping in with The CW’s schedule with an order of 13 episodes.
