Tom Taylor has been teasing a major reveal regarding his new series ‘Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent’, one that would dramatically impact the series and characters as a whole. The big reveal is Jon’s next destination Earth-49, or as we simply know it – Injustice.
The 2013 video game, Injustice: Gods Among Us changed the fighting game scene along with the comic book world by introducing a world where Superman becomes its greatest enemy along with several other heroes and villains either joining him or opposing him. Taylor penned the comic tie-in series which soon developed into its own ongoing yearly series. Many of the comic book elements would be the loose basis of the animated film adaption.
Having Jon Kent explore this Earth is major news for any fans of Taylor, especially those who were introduced to him through his Injustice series. It is extremely exciting for both of his worlds of Injustice and Jon Kent as Superman collide. One thing I am very intrigued to see is how it fits in with the story and how Injustice Superman is going to react when he meets Jon and he sees what his unborn son could have been.
“Jon Kent is on a collision course with the world of Injustice,” says Taylor, “On the ten-year anniversary of our first Injustice comics, Clayton Henry and my upcoming ‘Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent’ will see the son of Kal-El come face-to-face with Injustice Superman.”
‘Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent‘ will also embark on a multiversal journey to find and stop Ultraman, his old tormentor, of Earth-3 from murdering Supermen all across parallel Earths. Taylor is no stranger to creating alternate DC Earths such as DCeased and Dark Knights of Steel, but on the tenth anniversary of Injustice, this inclusion feels so right.
Adventures Of Superman: Jon Kent #1 is set for release on 8th March 2023.
