Earlier today at ComicsPRO Convention, DC Comics announced plans for their brand new Summer comic book event ‘Knight Terrors’ and it sounds incredible.
This event continues the new ‘Dawn Of DC’ era, which will eventually lead to this, which is set to start this July. Knight Terrors is a miniseries which will be written by Joshua Williamson, who is currently writing the new Superman title, with art by Howard Porter, Guillem March and more. It’s set to start this
Here is the official synopsis from DC Comics:
Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman find the body of one of their earliest enemies at the Hall of Justice. Their investigation takes them past the land of the living, beyond the land of the dead, into a realm of nightmares . The only way to save the world is to call for the help of an unlikely hero, Deadman.
This is definitely a new genre for these characters to step into, it’s not often we see Superman interact with such themes and I’m excited to see what the creative team bring. Joshua Williamson has a love and passion for horror comics, so it’s clear that this event is in safe hands. Williamson teased that “Knight Terrors showcases the horror side of our heroes as a brand-new villain confronts them with their worst nightmares. It’s a fun and horrific event that brings together all of the heroes and villains of DC, along with some surprises!”
Not only that but Chris Bachalo will return to DC for the first time in 20 years to team up with Joshua Williamson and Howard Porter for a ‘Dawn Of DC Knight Terrors Free Comic Book Day Special Edition’ cover. The cover will be release on Free Comic Book Day which is 6th May. The special issue sees Damian Wayne fighting his nightmarish teenage dreams, but something is a little odd about them.

‘Knight Terrors’ will completely take over the DC publishing line over two months, starting from July and is set to feature several two-issue miniseries. Their creative teams are yet to be announced, but each will feature an iconic hero and villain confronting their nightmares in the Nightmare Realm. Their actions will have more consequences than they know as whatever happens to them there, is also reflected upon the world.
Here’s a look at the variant covers featuring Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman by Francesco Mattina:
‘Knight Terrors’ is set to begin in July and I cannot wait to see my favourite heroes take on their biggest nightmares.
