‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ Set To Be Directed By Craig Gillespie
‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ has found a director in Craig Gillespie who has joined the project that follows a very different take on the character.
Gillespie is known for his work on Cruella, I, Tonya and Dumb Money and it’s safe to say that he is not afraid to put his own spin on a project. He will act as the third filmmaker that are building out the slate of projects for DC Studios, joining James Gunn and Andy Muschietti. Gillespie will join Ana Nogueira who has already written the script for the project.
‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ is based on the fantastic comic book series written by Tom King, with art by Bilquis Evely and colours by Matheus Lopes, it will star Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El. Like I said this will showcase a different side to Supergirl that we haven’t yet seen on the big screen. James Gunn confirmed during his announcement of the DC Studios slate in 2023 that “We will see the difference between Superman, who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl, raised on a rock, a chip off of Krypton, and who watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life and then come to Earth”.
‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ is set to be filmed later this year following the production of ‘Superman‘ which is set for release on 11th July 2025.
