DC Releases Series Of José Luis García-López Spotlight Variant Covers

DC have announced that they are publishing a series of José Luis García-López artist spotlight variant covers! García-López is an iconic DC artist, a majority of merchandise available today features his legendary artwork. This series in particular will be based on his character turnarounds from the 1982 DC Comics Style Guide and will be appearing on select comic books released in July.

The 1982 DC Comics Style Guide was created by José Luis García-López to be used as an in house document which allows DC Comics to deliver a consistent look and characterization for their heroes. This then became the standard reference for DC artists and license holders working on DC releases for decades and continues to influence many DC artist and fans today.

The character turnaround variants will be featured on Wonder Woman #11, Superman #16, Batman #150, Green Arrow #14, Green Lantern #13, The Flash #11 and Shazam! #13.

The José Luis García-López artist spotlight variants will be released this July. It’s safe to say that I will be getting the Superman variant!
