‘Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story’ Gets September Theatrical Release

Since the announcement of ‘Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story’ fans like myself have been eager to find out how we can watch the documentary. Well, the wait is over… sort of.. as it was announced at CinemaCon 2024 this week that it would be getting a theatrical release.

Attendees of the Las Vegas convention were shown the official trailer for the documentary which focuses on the life and career of Christopher Reeve. Peter Safran, the Co-CEO of DC Studios then revealed that the film would get a theatrical release this September, though as of yet there is no exact date.

'Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story'

The documentary film ‘Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story’ features never before seen footage and based on what was shown at the convention, it also includes personal and intimate footage of Reeve’s family in the time after his paralysing accident. It also features Reeve’s friendship with Robin Williams and the lengths that Reeve went to in order to get into shape for his role in ‘Superman: The Movie’.

The documentary film was first shown at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, which then led to Warner Bros. making a bid for exclusive rights to it. As a huge fan of Superman and Christopher Reeve, I cannot wait to see it.
