McFarlane Toys Announce Super Powers Superman & Bizarro Action Figures Wave 9
Wave 9 of McFarlane Toy’s revival of the retro Super Powers action figures is now available to pre-order and this one looks like it was made for World’s Finest fans with Superman and Batman with their rivals Bizarro and the Riddler. They’re also real treats because they’re new figure molds.
There are a handful of Superman figures in the Super Powers line already, including Max Fleischer, Reborn, gold, Justice Lord, and just plain old Superman. This figure is labeled as “classic” in the marketing, and it improves the original design in a couple of ways. His torso is more defined, the chest emblem is sharper and a bit bigger, and he’s given an entirely new face mold aligning with his Silver Age comic likeness.
True to his older appearances before he wore the purple suit, Bizarro wore a duplicate of Superman’s suit. In the place of his inverted crest, is his amusing stone medallion proclaiming to the universe that Bizarro is, in fact, number one. This is Bizarro’s debut for McFarlane Toy’s Super Power line. The original one was released by Kenner in Wave 4 in the 80s. This figure can be considered a remake of that one, and a very good one.
Superman, Bizarro, Batman, and The Riddler are available for pre-order from online retailers for $9.99 per figure or $39.99 for the whole wave.
