‘My Adventures with Superman’ Season 3 in Post-Production — New Allies, New Villains, and More Super Adventures

My Adventures with Superman‘—one of DC’s most acclaimed modern animated takes—has its third season officially in post-production, according to executive producer and showrunner Jake Wyatt, who confirmed the update on Aug. 6, 2025, via X. While no premiere date has been announced, post-production status signals a window that could land as early as late 2025.

Since its debut, the series has earned rare consensus acclaim: both Season 1 and Season 2 hold a 100% Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes.

Season 1 introduces a young Clark Kent juggling his rising Daily Planet career with the discovery of his Kryptonian heritage, while Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen become indispensable partners in both journalism and heroics. Clark faces evolving threats tied to stolen tech, Parasite, and Task Force X, setting up a government-vs.-Superman tension that simmers beneath the surface.

Season 2 widens the lens: the government crackdown escalates; Lex Luthor steps from opportunist to power player; and the series’ scifi threads intensify around Kryptonian A.I. and Brainiac. Crucially, Kara ZorEl/Supergirl makes her debut this season and becomes central to the finale, while John Henry Irons (Steel) enters the story through AmerTek—reimagined as a whistleblowing scientist and first responder–minded armor designer whose path intersects with Superman and Lex.

Season 3: what we know (according to panels at past comic-cons)

  • Superboy & Cyborg Superman teased: SDCC concept art pointed to Conner Kent/Superboy joining the narrative and Hank Henshaw’s evolution into Cyborg Superman—suggesting the show may remix pieces of the legendary “Death of Superman” era.
  • Bald Lex Luthor & a new alliance: Season 3 visuals and interviews indicate Lex finally sporting the classic bald look—and, more provocatively, teaming with Slade Wilson. Wyatt framed them as “two selfserving survivors” now operating in the private sector—a brainsandbrawn partnership with volatile upside.
  • Tone & trajectory: With Supergirl already established (Season 2) and Steel in play, Season 3 is positioned to deepen Kryptonian lore, sharpen Metropolis’ power struggles, and test Clark, Lois, Jimmy, and Kara against threats that hit both the heart and the headlines.

The series reimagines Superman’s formative years with anime-inspired energy and modern character dynamics: Lois Lane is more proactive and integral than ever; Jimmy Olsen has agency beyond comic relief; and Clark’s growth is treated as a lived-in coming of age rather than a fait accompli. That balance of warmth, humor, serialized mystery, and high concept sci-fi has been a big part of why the show resonates.

Wyatt is also developing My Adventures with Green Lantern, a spinoff in the same continuity starring Jessica Cruz as a teenage Lantern caught in the fallout of an ancient interstellar war.

Where to watch (catch up, rewatch, or start fresh): both Season 1 and Season 2 are available to stream on Max; the series also airs on Adult Swim (Toonami). Season 1 is available for digital purchase via Fandango at Home as well.
