D20 Culture Announce ‘Justice League Unlimited’ Tabletop RPG Initiative
D20 Culture have just announced a brand new Tabletop RPG Initiative titled ‘Justice League Unlimited: The Roleplaying Game’, they are a Brazilian gaming publisher and this upcoming game is an officially licensed one in partnership with Warner Bros. and DC Comics.
This RPG game is set to lean into a rules light, narrative approach that prioritises storytelling and collaboration over mechanics. It is set within a timeline influenced by the events of recent comic book initiatives from DC which is something that I love and is based on Absolute Power and the ongoing Justice League Unlimited comic series. It has also been developed alongside the writer of that very series, Mark Waid.

The game is set to have the following standout features:
- Saving Scenes that feature dedicated rules for non-combat heroics, using a “Doomsday Clock” system to track time-sensitive rescues.
- Power Tiers where heroes progress from Tier D (“Year One” street-level vigilantes) to Tier S (cosmic guardians).
- Ascension Points (PAX), which is a meta currency that’s used to customize attributes and evolve powers, with everything from minor flame control to planetary-scale manipulation.
- The Crisis Die, which is a mechanic that introduces sudden plot twists, such as unforeseen invasions or power loss.

‘Justice League Unlimited: The Roleplaying Game’ is set to be launched via a crowdfunded this July, with a project timeline completing somewhere between March and May 2027.
