DC Comics Announce ‘Kingdom Of Zod’ Crossover Storyline Event

DC Comics have just announced ‘Kingdom Of Zod’, a brand new crossover storyline event that takes place across several titles, they include; ‘Supergirl’, ‘Action Comics’, ‘Superman Unlimited’ and ‘Superman’ which are set to release in August and September.

DC promises that the story of how General Zod returned and what role he is set to play in the takeover will stun readers with a shocking twist which will set the entire world ablaze with the power of Kryptonite. Guillem March is set to provide connecting main covers across all titles, with variants also by Noobovich, Joe Quinones, Mike Choi, ACO, Ariel Olivetti, Stephanie Hans, Vincenzo Riccardi, Taurin Clarke, Christian Ward and Mark Spears. 'Kingdom Of Zod'

The crossover event will feature writers Joshua Williamson, Sophie Campbell, Mark Waid and Dan Slott, with artists Eddy Barrows, Joe Quinones, Montos and Rachael Stott. It will pit Superman and the Super-Family against General Dru-Zod as the threats introduced in DC’s All In era are set to collide. The story is set to begin in ‘Supergirl #16’ which is set for release on 12th august, hen a mysterious military coup dangerously destabilizes the Kryptonite Kingdom of El Caldero. Supergirl assembles her own strike team—a Super-Force including Superboy-Prime, Conner Kent, Tomorrow Man, Steel, and more—to infiltrate the occupied territory.

Fresh off the epic Reign of the Superboys storyline, Kara’s Superboy crew is shocked to discover this conquering force is Kryptonian in origin…and deadly. Set to release on the very same day is ‘Action Comics #1101’ which sees Superman crash-land back into the present day after the events ofAction Comics #1100 (no spoilers here!), only to find himself immediately drawn into the escalating conflict. The crossover continues on 19th August with ‘Superman Unlimited #16’, where Zod reveals the true scope of his plan and unleashes a dangerous Kryptonite infection that spreads across the world. ‘Superman #41’ will then follow on 26th August as Superman, Supergirl, Superboy-Prime, and the Super-Family confront Zod in a battle that will reshape the future of the House of El! The story then continues through September with further chapters in ‘Supergirl #17’, ‘Action Comics #1102’, ‘Superman Unlimited #17’ and ‘Superman #42’. The ‘Kingdom Of Zod’ story arc is set to make its explosive conclusion in its very own one-shot title, ‘Superman: Kingdom Of Zod Special’ which is set for release on 30th September.
