REVIEW: Superman Unlimited #15
Superman Unlimited #15 continues the battle of the super-sons, quite literally! I have had a blast with this story arc so far, Dan Slott has really allowed Jon Kent AKA Tomorrow Man his time to shine and really break free from his fathers shadow.
But before we get into the issue itself, let’s take a look at the covers! The main cover is by Taurin Clarke and captures the tone and contents of the issue perfectly. This is an action packed cover which really sets the atmosphere for the issue with no detail spared.

Zoe Thorogood’s variant is perfect, it shows Superman and Supergirl at their best – helping the average person. The detail is great and her art style has a calming and realistic sense to it that real shows these characters for what they are.

The variant by Fernando Blanco shows a mother and son team up like no other. I love the stance that they are in and also the nod to ‘Superman’ (2025) with Lois’ outfit. I love the solid background against their detailed silhouettes, it really makes them stand out.

Superman Unlimited #16 opens right up where we left off as the son of Ultraman takes his attack on Tomorrow Man and Steel. The original plan to put the son of Ultraman in a cage hasn’t quite worked. so Steel and the group n ow have to come up with another plan and quick. The real Jon Kent tries to reason with this so called Superboy in a bid to get him to understand, he considers revealing his secret. Considering Ultraboy is such a young boy, he is incredibly strong and that calls for reinforcements in the form of Batman and Robin, who were suspicious about this boy the entire time.
What I love about this issue is that despite there being so much going on, each character does their part to save the day – even Jonathan and Martha Kent. With Batman and Robin’s revelation of turning Green Kryptonite into Blue Kryptonite, this could come in handy for Superman’s problem with the Kryptonite King – this reveal is just touched upon but I feel this information and thread will be used later in the series.
Whilst Ultraboy is slightly weakened, Tomorrow Man is able to get to him emotionally and remind him of everything that he taught him during their time together and honestly, it’s quite a beautiful outcome of the situation. In this moment we are reminded of the actual cause of all that’s gone on and honestly, I had totally forgotten who was to blame… Tyxz! But in his ‘redemption’ moment, he offers Jon Kent of this Earth to make the ultimate decision, this decisions sees a bit of fallout from other characters, but I feel it gives them the closure that they needed.
The interior art is by Lucas Meyer, with colours by Giuliano Peratelli and letters by Dave Sharpe and it was perfect for this issue. The action was incredible and had the perfect amount of detail, the moments that needed detail on the emotions were executed to perfection too and that added a lot of the weight of this issue.
(9/10) Honestly, I really loved Superman #15 and this entire story arc, to the point where I wish it had lasted a little longer. It showed huge progression for Jon Kent and I’m looking forward tossing where he goes from here as Tomorrow Man.
