Comet The Superhorse is making a comeback and I couldn’t be happier!

Comet The Superhorse was first introduced in 1962 within the pages of Adventure Comics #293 and frequently appeared with Supergirl. Comet was one of the many Super-Pets which included; Krypto The Superdog, Streaky The Supercat, Beppo The Supermonkey and more.

Following ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths‘ the character disappeared since his stories were no longer considered “canon”, though a slightly different version was introduced in 1997 within the pages od Supergirl #14. This version resembled a Centaur and had a very different power set and origin story to the Superhorse reader knew and loved.

Well it seems that Comet The Superhorse is making a comeback in his usual form, this time within the pages of Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow. Artist Bilquis Evely teased his return in a Twitter post showing her work in progress. Not only that but it seems he is front and centre on this gorgeous cover released by colourist Matheus Lopes for #6.

This series, written by Tom King, with art by Bilquis Evely and colours by Matheus Lopes seems like the perfect time to re-introduce such a fantastical character and I cannot wait! I truly hope this means he will stick around.
