Superman’s Secret Identity To Be Restored In Action Comics #1050

Superman’s secret identity is set to be restored in the upcoming issue Action Comics #1050 .

This comes as quite a shock as DC took the plunge on revealing both their identities during Brian Michael Bendis’ run on the series, the story arc was titled ‘The Truth‘. That arc saw Superman reveal his secret identity to the world and in turn also revealing his son’s.

According to Comicbook.com, there are several issues that arise during this restoration process and someone important to the both of them faces consequences. With that someone being close to the pair of them, it leads me to believe that it is likely to be Lois Lane and it is clear that she is set to play a pivotal role in the upcoming issue. I say this because Action Comics writer, Phillip Kennedy Johnson stated in an interview that: “Some elements of the Lois and Clark dynamic can only be there with the secret identity”.

Personally, I was not expecting this news so soon, but I know a lot of fans will be happy about this change. I wasn’t mad at Superman revealing his truth, however there are some classic Superman tropes that I miss which involve it. Though I am positive that the team working on Superman and Jon at the moment will do great things with this series and the characters, I can’t help but feel the moments up until now seem like a bit of a waste. I am very much looking forward to seeing more of Jon’s secret identity and the dynamic between the pair once it is in place.

Action Comics #1050 is on sale in December and with Superman’s Secret Identity being restored is set to be a landmark issue with a staggering 25 variant covers available!
