‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ Gets Live Action Adaptation

During the DC Studios slate announcement by James Gunn and Peter Safran it was announced that the Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow comic series was being adapted in live action.

Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow is one of my personal favourite comic series to date, I absolutely adored that take on Kara. The series had phenomenal artwork by Bilquis Evely and some beautiful narration and writing by Tom King and now, it has been announced that it will be getting a live action adaption.

During the DC Studios slate announcement by James Gunn and Peter Safran it was announced that the Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow comic series was being adapted in live action. It has also been confirmed that Tom King has had a very large role in bringing this story and film to life, which really excites me.

Here’s what James Gunn had to say about the upcoming project:

In our story, we have Superman who was sent to Earth and raised by incredibly loving parents. Kara was on Krypton. She was on a piece of Krypton that drifted away from the planet and she lived there for the first fourteen years of her life in a horrible situation where she watched everyone around her die. So, she’s a much harsher and more f*cked up Supergirl than you’ve been used to thus far.

As of yet there is no official release date for ‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’, but it’s safe to say I’m excited for it. If you want to see what we thought of the original comic series, check out our reviews.
