McFarlane Toys Starts Pre Order for Bugs Bunny Superman Figure

2023 marks the 100th anniversary of Warner Bros, one of the few entertainment giants with roots back to the Golden Ages of film, comics, and animation. There’s no denying the legacy of the icons that they have under their shield and have gained over the years.

The Movie Maniacs 6” figure series from McFarlane toys celebrates this rich history with some of their biggest characters like Harry Potter, The Wicked Witch of the West and now the new Bugs Bunny as Superman figure is a combined celebration of these two titans of pop culture. 

The box itself is a collector’s item with a Looney Tunes window packaging commemorating the century anniversary with all the new and unique branding. Turn it over, and you have a really charming rendition of the Looney Tunes cast in Superman garb true to the original cartoon style that has been subtly changing over the decades. Some of the characters like Daffy and Tweety even have the traditional Superman hair with a split curl.

The Bugs Bunny figure itself is more of a detailed and textured statue. Rather than doing the traditional Superman pose, Bugs assumes his own trademark pose when he asks “what’s up, doc?” while chowing down on a carrot. The hand holding the carrot is also interchangeable with another one sans the carrot. He cartoonishly fits the suit with all his proportions humorously reflected in its fitting. As it would turn out, Bugs Bunny actually has a long history of dressing up and playing the part of Superman.

The figure is fixed on a small dioramic stand with texturised ground and soil. Like all McFarlane Toys releases, it also comes with a collectible figure trading card with a portion of the Looney Tunes cast illustration from the back of the box and a special edition stand to display it on. The pre-order also advertises a bonus item, that’s an unexpected but welcome surprise. 

McFarlane Toys are now taking preorders for the Movie Maniacs WB 100; Bugs Bunny as Superman figure on collectible sites such as Entertainment Earth for $24.99. For a figure that is a limited edition release of about 7,500, that seems like a steal for your Man of Steel collection.
