La-La Land Records Re-release Limited Edition Superman II & III Soundtrack
La-La Land Records have released a limited edition Superman II & III, it seems the celebrations for Superman’s 80th year in comics is not over yet!
Although this year celebrates the 40th anniversary of Superman: The Movie, La-La Land Records are shedding a bit of praise on Superman II & III, which is always nice to see! In association with Warner Bros, DC Entertainment and Warner Music Group, they have re-released a 3-CD film soundtrack to celebrate the two 80’s films that starred Christopher Reeve. It isn’t often that those films are paid tribute to, it’s usually the first and Superman’s comic legacy, so this is really nice to see.
The music for the scores was conducted by Ken Thorne, who’s orchestra not only brought life to our beloved Man of Steel, but he also incorporated the classic Superman theme by John Williams. This new release not only features the classic score that we know and love, but it also includes unreleased tracks. I for one, can’t wait to hear those!
Not only do we get the iconic scores of the films in this latest release, but we also get a 44 page booklet, which shows the liner notes from Mike Matessino, Jeff Eldridge and Lukas Kendall, giving you that extra insight to these soundtracks. The artwork for this book is by Jim Titus, and although you can’t see much from the image, it looks as iconic as the character.
The soundtrack is limited edition, with only 3,000 pieces available to purchase and is priced at $34.98. There has been no announcement yet as to where it will be available in the UK, but I hope that will soon follow. They are available to order NOW, at La-La Records website.
