DC Comics’ just announced that Tom Taylor will finally be writing Superman in a brand new series titled Superman: Son Of Kal-El. Ever since his take on Superman in DCEASED and even Injustice, I have been very eager to have Tom Taylor write more Superman and my dream has finally come true!
This is an entirely new series which will replace the current Superman title that is released each month. Superman: Son Of Kal-El will release monthly and will follow Jonathan Kent as he takes on the duty of being Superman.
It will be very interesting to see how and if this series will fit in with Phillip Kennedy Johnson’s work on the character and continuing run in Action Comics. Not only that but it will be interesting to see how Clark feels about it and the reasons behind him stepping down.

Here’s the official synopsis of the series from THR:
The new series will follow the son of Superman as he begins his next chapter. Jonathan Kent is well suited for the task of wearing his father’s cape, having fought evil with Robin (Damian Wayne), traveled across galaxies with his Kryptonian grandfather, and lived in the future with the Legion of Super-Heroes, who were intent on training Jon for the day his father could no longer be Superman. There is a hole in the Legion’s history that prevents Jon from knowing exactly when that will happen, but all signs point to it being very soon.Cited from THR.
The series will be written by Tom Taylor, with art by John Timms and colours by Gabe Eltaeb, I have to say I am huge fans of each of theirs and I cannot wait to see what they do with this character and the series as a whole.
Issue #1 of Superman: Son Of Kal-El by Tom Taylor will release on 13th July 2021 and I cannot wait!
