McFarlane Toys Begin Pre-Orders For DC Multiverse Superman vs. Doomsday Two-Pack
The Mcfarlane Toys Superman and Doomsday twin pack are available for pre-order from Target’s website at $59.99 and is set for a July release.
McFarlane Toys hits it out of the park yet again with another DC Multiverse Superman figure two-pack that pits him up against his most fearsome adversaries. This one features the Man of Steel and Doomsday, which has been announced for pre-order as a Target exclusive for the Summer Geek-Out collector’s event.
While it’s not Superman in the condition he was in after their legendary fight the set commemorates, the usual McFarlane Kal-El figure build is busted up here with a torn cape, some scratches, and bruises on his face. Still, his suit is intact for the most part. It’s also an impressive facial mold straight out of the Dan Jurgens comic. Unlike the previous Ultraman two-pack, this Superman has the trunks.
Doomsday has been described by McFarlane Toys as a “mega figure,” nearly twice the height as the Superman figure, and scales perfectly with the 7” inch figures. This has everything that makes a Doomsday figure great – size, actual pointy spikes, and equals the other figures in articulation. The design here appears to be inspired by his collective appearances in comics and in Injustice with the inclusion of the hair tail.
The set includes another pair of Superman hands, figure bases, and McFarlane Toys’ signature trading cards. The Superman card uses the cover art from Death of Superman, while the Doomsday card uses a portion of the cover art from Reign of Doomsday. The box is also branded with the 85th Anniversary of Superman seal.
