Earlier this week, the news broke that María Gabriela de Faría was set to play ‘The Engineer’ AKA Angela Spica in the upcoming DC Studios project Superman: Legacy.
Gabreila de Faría is a Venezuelan actress known for her roles on Deadly Class, Animal Control and The Moodys, it’s safe to say she is an up and coming actress and I welcome the idea of having fresh talent in the new era of DC films. Her character, The Engineer was first introduced in The Authority #1 by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch, she has a power set that stems from nanotechnology that has been built into her body.
Superman: Legacy is the debut title in the new DC Studios slate, which will be directed and written by James Gunn. So far the cast include David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason/Metamorpho. Now we see María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer added to that line up.
Superman: Legacy is set for a release date of 11th July 2025 and with all of the recent announcements, it couldn’t come any quicker!
