REVIEW: Superman & Lois, S4, Ep 8, “A Sharp Dressed Man”
Superman & Lois S4, Ep 8, “A Sharp Dressed Man” sees Luthor set a trap for Lois and Clark neither can ignore while the consequences of Clark’s public reveal really starts affecting the entire family. There’s also bleak news concerning Clark’s resurrection and a few references to comic related lore.
Before the opening credits, we’re treated to a live action visual of David Finch’s classic depiction from his variant to Action Comics #890. Tom Cavanagh guest stars as Gordon Godfrey which is an obvious reference to Darkseid’s henchman Glorious Godfrey and there’s heavy speculation that Luthor’s computer genius lackey, Milton, is one of Brainiac’s original aliases. All this and things come full circle concerning John Henry’s suit which sets up for where the season finale might be heading.
Overall this episode is fantastic. I’ve always loved seeing Lois and Lex go head-to-head and that interaction is well captured between Elizabeth Tulloch and Michael Cudlitz. The finale feels like it’s taking a predictable path, but this series has done an excellent job surprising us along the way and I doubt the last two episodes will be an exception.
Superman & Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman, Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, Alex Garfin as Jordan Kent, Michael Bishop as Jonathan Kent, with Michael Cudlitz as Lex Luthor, Wolé Parks as John Henry Irons, Tayler Buck as Natalie Irons, Samantha Di Francesco as Candice Pergande, and special guest appearance by Tom Cavanagh as Gordon Godfrey.
